Compositing

I continue to clone stamp the shadow for my Cardboard Robot and completed it.Mr Leong point out to us that the trees at the background not blending in to the building we model and suggest to us that we should render out one frame and did minor correction to it and crop away the part we don't need and put back in nuke. After that, i did the color correction in Photoshop and did it for a few time and test it in Nuke to see how well it blend and manage to improve the blending of the building and the trees.

Compositing

When we render out the Cardboard Robot shadow, the shadow had some error to it and  i had problem match-move the clone stamp i did with Rotopaint with the shadow and thus i had to clone stamp the shadow of the Robot from first frame to the last frame for the animation and i manage to complete 60% of it.

Render

We start to compositing the building into the scene and there are two building which the scale was wrong and had to re-render the whole scene again and we also add a animation to the crane and the ferris wheel that vincent model so that the background will not look so flat. I also render some model which were needed for the turntable.

Modeling/Texturing

We show Mr Leong the frame that we render out and he told us to make changes to the texture we use on the building as some are not suitable and apply some bump mapping to it as some of the model do not have a bump mapping attach to it and I re-texture most of the model and also apply the bump map to it and it allow the model to blend in more than before. There are also a few building with the wrong scale that Mr Leong point out and we scale down some of the building which were too large at that point of time.

Modeling/Lighting
Praveen, Vincent and I were discussing the scale of the building and the placement for the building and try to make it fit into the scene and we also try to light up the scene to match our actual footage, but at the end of the day, there are still some problem with the scale of the building and the lighting we did that Mr Leong pointed it out to us and he did a minor adjustment to the scale and the lighting which make the model blend in more.

Rigging/Animation
Although i did the rig on 19/8/2011 for the Cardboard Robot, when i import the robot into the scene and try to scale it so to fit in with the scene, the scaling of the robot does not work the way I wanted and I had to do the rig again and I had started the animation for the robot after i finish rigging the model and i manage to complete 35% of the animation for the robot.

Modeling/Lighting
Praveen, Vincent and I are still trying to adjust the scale of building and the lighting for the scene but it didn't went smoothly. The lighting we did make the whole scene look CG and not realistic and there are no shadow of the robot cast on the ground plane when we render the scene.

Modeling/Lighting
Praveen, Vincent and I import some of our building model inside a single maya file and we discuss about the placement of the building and we also need to scale the the building to make it look realistic, but when we ask Mr Leong about the scaling we did to the building, Mr Leong told us that some of the scale was wrong and we make some changes to it. We also try to simulate the lighting for the environment and we had trouble fixing the light as we couldn't get the lighting right for the scene and the shadow also doesn't work the way we wanted it to be.

Modeling
I model two more building which were needed for my shot as we need to build something like a city in the background with the model we make. I did a rough adjustment of what the city will look like in the background, i test it with one building and duplicate them and did some adjustment on the height to simulate a city as the building are all in different height.

Example on how the Cardboard City will look like.

Modeling
I model the dustbin which were needed for my shot and help Praveen to model some of the building needed for the shot and i manage to model two building which one was the first building and for the other one i did a extension on the first building to form the second building.

Lighting
On last Friday I did the test lighting and I show Mr Leong the test lighting for my Cardboard Robot and  he  mention to me that the lighting was wrong and told us to compound all the model first and do the a single lighting on the overall scene.

Texturing/Rigging
I did a UV mapping on my Cardboard Robot and adjust how the texture look and it still need a minor tweaking on the setting for the materials to make it look more believable. I had complete the rigging for the Cardboard robot.

Lighting
I render our shot into iff file in Adobe After Effect and put it in maya and i try match the lighting for the Robot to match with the shot, but there are still adjustment need to be done on the lighting.

Modeling
I complete the modeling the Cardboard Robot that i need for my shot and tomorrow going to start the texturing and rigging for my model.

Shooting
Today Praveen, Vincent and I went to Lower Seletar Reservoir and manage to get our first shot done without much problem as we did the test shot yesterday.

Modeling
I continue to model the Cardboard Robot which was around 60% complete and was manage to model finish the body and parts of the arm of the robot. Now left parts of the arm and the leg and my model will be finish.

Location Scouting/Test shot
For the first shot, Praveen, Vincent and I when to Lower Seletar Reservoir to scout around for suitable location, and we manage to find a place which were suitable for our shot and we did some test shot  at the location first so tomorrow we will be able to get our shot done faster.
For the second shot, Praveen and I in the morning, we when to Blk M 4th floor and did a test shot for the second shot and later discuss with group member to decide which angle will be better. Later in the evening, we did the take the final shot with all our group member.

Modeling
I started doing the Cardboard Robot i need for my shot and I manage to complete modelling the head of the model i need as i spend quite a while to fix a problem occur when i was modelling the head and creating the eye for the Robot as i do not want to insert edge loop to create the eye as it will increase the number of faces which i do not need.

Location Scouting
I did a location scout around the school to find suitable location for our shot but did not manage to find a suitable place to film the shot in school.
